| ROUND 6 - ROCHEDALE TRAVEL TO CHRIS GREEN PARK |
|
|
A different challenge for Rovers this week as they travel down the M1 to take on a resurgent Beenleigh side, freshly promoted from Division One and holding their own in the top league. In Juso Julardzija, they have a striker capable of regularly scoring goals at this level and the team has a work ethic that will keep them in many games this season. They currently have 4 points from their opening 4 games, including good results against Taringa Rovers and a draw with Brisbane Wolves. Defeats since against Easts & Pine Hills have brought them back to earth somewhat, but they have certainly showed enough resolve to be dangerous in 2010, especially at Chris Green Park. For Rovers it is the kind of game that they are expected to win. 4 wins from 4 games, including last week's thriller with Peninsula Power has seen the team skyrocket to the top of the league, scoring numerous goals in the process. In Steve Unsworth they have found a front man who can complement Rovers style of play perfectly. If Beenleigh are to take anything from the game, they are going to have to counter the numerous attacking weapons of Rovers. Tabulo, Lovell, Hastings & Unsworth will all be looking to improve their goals tally for 2010. In Beenleigh's favour, Terry Hughes will be missing due to suspension, meaning for the first time this season, Rochedale will name a changed starting line up. For Rochedale Gray & Tumusiime will have to nullify the threat of Julardzija, Darren Gray in particular has had some interesting match ups with the Beenleigh frontman over the past two pre seasons, so it should be am intriguing by-part to the main game. Michael Oslar has also looked dangerous in the games he has been involved in this season for Beenleigh as well. The game is this Saturday the 27th March at Chris Green Park, Beenleigh. Reserves kicks off at 4:15pm and the main game at 6:30pm. Should be a great atmosphere with both teams being very well supported in 2010. |
