Rochedale Rovers successfully ran there first carnival last weekend even though the weather tried its best to ruin the day...

The heavy rain on Friday morning made Field 1 unplayable therefore the carnival was moved to the Cricket Oval. This could not have happened without the help of the grounds people, volunteers and great facilities we have Rochedale Rovers.

A big thank you must go out to all who helped on the day and the months leading up to the carnival, without your help the carnival wouldn't have been a success.

Once the carnival was on the way, all ran smoothly and Rochedale witnessed some fantastic football played in both age groups.

The Rochedale Rovers under 8's played some fantastic football on the day and had some good results. Unfortunately they missed out on the Exhibition final but we have some great up and coming talent in this age group.

The Rochedale Rovers under 9’s also played some great football and won the Exhibition Final with a 2- 0 win against a strong Mt Gravatt team, there is great depth and talent in this age group.

A big thank you must go to Tony Casas and Paul Swindells who did a fantastic job coaching the teams and also a big thank you for the lads who refereed on the day
